Brand: Silverstar Designs

Age: 52

Margaret Sylvester, born in Cape Town South Africa, is heavily inspired by the ocean and different body silhouettes.

Silvestar designs launched in 1993 and soon appeared in various national and international events.

Finding a niche in the market for fancy swimwear, cover-ups and hoodies, her collections draw inspiration from her style icon Collette Dinnigan.

Her stylish, original and sophisticated collections are based around the new generation but also are associated with older styles that are continuously coming back into fashion.

We are glad to have Margaret on board the Fox Feet Summer Runway and look forward to seeing her unique collection of swim wear.

Brand: CDQ Designs

Age: 30

South African born Cindy De Quintal created CDQ as an aim to bring more elegance, femininity and something a little different to the fashion world. With her collection Zurina, meaning white in Spanish, she is certainly doing just that.

Having been always inspired by nature and flowers, CDQ hopes to bring beauty and grace to the Perth streets. Inspired by style icons such as Taylor Swift, Emma Stone and Blake Lively CDQ she brings a sophisticated and feminine look to all her designs.

Finding Australian manufacturing challenging Cindy makes most of her pieces herself. This really helps her stand out as an amazingly talented designer and we’re happy to welcome her to the Fox Feet Summer Runway line-up.

Designer: Nita Villamar

Brand: VILLAMAR Couture

Age of Brand: 10months old

“Inspiration sometimes can be hard to find, inspiration can sometimes be difficult. But once it consumes you let it flow. Anything and everything inspires me.”

Nita, born in the Philippines, discovered a book on Valentino and Versace at just 11 years of age and knew designing was exactly what she wanted to do.

Her sexy, sophisticated and elegant collection is inspired by the elegance and sex appeal concepts of her style icons, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Lauren.

Based around her desire to help women embrace their confidence and wear garments feeling alive and beautiful, she believes it’s about feeling it on the inside that shows on the outside.

Nita’s collection focuses on letting the mind imagine the possibility that we can do anything and embracing confidence (no matter what age, size or gender) through casual, cocktail and couture wear.

We look forward to seeing her artistic and wearable collection on the Foxfeet Summer Runway Line up.

Designer: Mal K. Maduka

Brand: MKO

Age: 25

Heavily inspired by street-style, Mal, born in Nigeria, drew inspiration from Canadian brand Kastor&Pollux and brought her brand MKO to life with a focus on the basics – form, shape and texture.

On Kastor&Pollux:

“The designers were so young yet they had a thriving business and were very self aware about their products. I thought if they could do it and be successful, why couldn’t I? They impressed on me the desire to work hard for what I want.”

Her most recent collection is based around metamorphosis, evident from the thick, full-face veils and cocoon-like textures, creeping up the neck and falling away below the waist.

This, merged with her use of innovative and unique fabrics, and abstraction from the practicality to the artfulness of fashion, show her clear aesthetic and vision. We’re glad to welcome her to the Fox Feet Summer Runway line-up.

Designer: Aqeela Isaacs

Brand: Aqeela Isaacs

Age: 21

Born in Cape Town but growing up in Australia, Aqeela makes clothes that she loves.

“My brand is very much my own style, clothing I would personally wear myself. The reason being is because I found it very tough finding clothing suit my personality in stores, so I decided to create it not only for myself but others with the same fashion sense as mine.”

Drawing inspiration from the wonder of nature for this collection – specifically the African sunset moth, symbolizing a hidden and undiscovered beauty.

“On its wings are millions of iridescent flaps that when light hits it, amazing colours reflect off its wings. So beautiful it is in fact mistaken for a butterfly. This unique creature inspired me to design and create this collection, with the intention to make all the beauty of the fine detailing shine through my garments just as the moths’ fine detailing in its wings make it such a beauty of the world.”

Subtle, draping layers and light, shimmering silk certainly exemplifies this throughout her collection, coated with lovely creams and bright turquoise. Lace-like embroidery plays perfectly into this very strong thematic collection, which is topped off by a beautiful red riding hood inspired outfit, complete with iridescent, reversible cape.

Aqeela is an undeniably strong and talented designer, and we’re glad to have her on board for the Fox Feet Summer Charity Runway.
